With great sadness, Alarm Systems, Inc. announces the death of company founder Stephen “Steve” T. Havermale on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at the age of 69. We extend our deepest condolences to Steve’s family and our tremendous gratitude for his many years of service.

Steve founded ASI in 1974 and continued as Project Coordinator after the company changed ownership.  He was a master at alarm programming and established the area’s only UL-listed Central Station. Under Steve’s leadership, the company became known for exceptional workmanship and expertise.  In recent years the company has grown to service most of the Midwestern states as a Platinum Level Honeywell Integrated Security Dealer.

Steve’s legacy at ASI continues with three family members currently serving the company: Paul Havermale (son), National Account Manager; Jerry Havermale (brother), Senior Technician and Tim Doellman (son-in-law), Field Service Supervisor.

Steve was born April 10, 1949, in Quincy, IL.  He is survived by his wife, Angie; their children Paul (Pam) Havermale, Amanda (Tim) Doellman and Chrissy (Jim) Graszer; brother Jerry (Debbie) Havermale; sisters Connie (Johnny) Miller, Janet (Danny) Wolf, Carol (Rick) Bridal, Vicky (Lee) Hanlin and Kathy (Bruce) Albright along with 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Steve served in the Army attaining the rank of Sergeant before his Honorable discharge in 1971.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018, 9:30 a.m. at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home, Quincy, IL followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Interment will military honors in Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
